White Sox get RHP prospect Ziehl from Yankees for Slater
Prior to Wednesday's series finale vs. Philadelphia, the Chicago White Sox acquired Minor League right-handed pitcher Gage Ziehl from the New York Yankees in exchange for outfielder Austin Slater and recalled outfielder Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte.

Ziehl, 22, was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 18 prospect in the Yankees organization. He has gone 5-4 with a 4.15 ERA (38 ER/82.1 IP) and 70 strikeouts in 16 games (14 starts) this season with Class A Tampa, Class AA Somerset and Class A Hudson Valley. Ziehl made 14 starts with Tampa before being promoted to Hudson Valley on July 26.

White Sox receive: RHP Gage Ziehl
Ziehl, 6-foot and 225 pounds, was selected by the Yankees in the fourth round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Miami. He also was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 11th round in 2021, but did not sign.
Slater, 33, is hitting .236/.299/.423 (29-123) with six doubles, five home runs, 11 RBI and 20 runs scored over 51 games this season, his first with the White Sox.
Robertson, 27, is batting .324/.361/.765 (11-34) with four doubles, three homers, six RBI and 10 runs scored in eight games with Charlotte. He was named International League Player of the Week for the period of July 21-27.
Robertson also appeared in four games with the White Sox from July 11-18 after being acquired from Toronto on July 10 in exchange for cash considerations.
